Peter began his career in the field of Industrial Engineering at Daimler Benz where he was active in the Mercedes Benz organization and later in a leading role at the Daimler headquarters. Then he was appointed to the HR unit and over a 6-year period held several key leadership roles within the corporate and Mercedes HR organizations, incl. Head of HR for Daimler Services-Unit debis AG in Berlin and Stuttgart. Peter then assumed global HR responsibility for a family-owned company – Hartmann – and also led the strategic restructuring and realignment of the company over a 2-year period. Joining Voith Group he held P+L responsibility and as board member of Voith Industrial Services drove the development of this Stuttgart-based company and its European affiliates.
From the management and consulting perspective, Peter is an insider of the manufacturing sector as well as the field of technical services & trade for major industrial companies and family-owned enterprises. Based upon his experience in corporate management and HR management as well as studies he has conducted, Peter advises family-owned client companies about management team changes and succession planning. He also consults clients in issues of organizational and process restructuring, as well as management diagnostics and onboarding. As an executive search consultant he concentrates on supervisory/advisory board vacancies, executive boards and senior management positions, as well as other key management functions.
Peter began his consulting career at Heidrick&Struggles where he led the practice Industrial Central Europe and also played an active role in the global Automotive practice. Then he joined the management team of a Germany-based consultancy.
He earned a doctor’s degree in Natural Sciences and also holds a degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from the Johann-Wolfgang-von-Goethe University in Frankfurt.
