    European HQ of privately held Asian Hidden Champion

    Our client is an Asian privately held group of companies which serves the IoT and automation industries with technologically outstanding products and services worldwide. Products and solutions connect devices with networks and clouds, enabling users (men and machines) to communicate fast and safe in all technical environments. The company has grown steadily over the last decades, increasing market share and financial success respectively. It is working throughout the triad markets using own and distributors’ structures. The total revenue accounts for about 300m Euros, whereas 1/3 is gained in the European markets. The group wants to accelerate the growth, participating in the vast development of specific market segments, especially in Europe and Asia. The European HQ is located in Munich/Germany with affiliated structures in France and Great Britain. It accounts for roughly 1/3 of the total business. In the future, the German organization has to serve as a foothold in the industrial automation business including the multiple national research and development facilities and initiatives in this field. Today, the European structure comprises sales (distributors and key accounts), marketing, application engineering as well as a service/repair unit.


    Hands-on Executive in Industrial Automation Business (products, services, solutions)

    The purpose of this position is to lead and drive the factory automation business of our client in Europe to achieve ambitious growth targets and establish the client as a leading player in the industrial automation networking and connectivity market. You responsibility includes analyzing and evaluating factory automation market and derivation of go to market strategies for key markets, pro-actively approaching identified new customers and market segments, and seeking out major clients and forming working relationships with key buyers and decision makers. You will build influence in factory automation market by both actively establishing contacts with key industry players as well as engaging in regional standardization bodies and committees, and working closely with global strategic business group to define regional product requirements (building of eco-system). Finally you will oversee and manage a team of business development and account managers across Europe, recruit competent talents for both short-term and long-term growth, and implement organizational strategy to ensure collaboration with strategic bus.

    Erfahrung und Kompetenzen

    Academically trained individual with years sales experience in high tech, industrial capital goods business and experience in sales leadership

    You are an academically trained individual (degree in engineering with an additional degree in business economics or business degree with strong affinity for high tech) with 10+ years sales experience in high tech, industrial capital goods business and 5 – 10 years of experience in sales leadership. You should be familiar with topics like industrial / process automation, smart manufacturing, etc. Industrial networking / device connectivity knowledge and a good conceptual know-how of IIoT and cybersecurity technology would be a plus. You are comfortable in managing regionally dispersed teams and virtual teams in matrix organizations. You have a hunter / driver mentality with the ability to motivate and mobilize a commercial team and a passion for driving good salesmanship including account planning and review, funnel management and forecasting. You have demonstrated sharp analytical thinking with a clear conceptual outcome and a pragmatic sustainable action rollout. You decide entrepreneurial, but you do understand and accept corporate boundaries and a corporate spirit which serves as a differentiating competitive lever. Your excellent communication skills and good coaching competence help you to attract best people, foster team spirit and individual excellence. You will encounter an open-minded corporate headquarter which actively supports the regional business in a professional way. Your travel time will be 25% of the total time and your language skills in English and German are fluent (written and spoken). Any additional major European language is a plus.
