Your task
Establishing and developing efficient, modern value creation processes in China and ensuring operational excellence and outstanding performance
Your main task as Chief Operations Officer (COO) (m/f/d) is essentially to further develop and ensure a self-sufficient, high-performance, excellent and strong operations organisation in China for China. As part of the company's defined China strategy, you will drive growth and innovation projects at the various locations and ensure state-of-the-art technologies and processes in production and throughout the entire supply chain. You are not only an experienced project implementer, but also a source of ideas and a driver. You will represent the Chinese organisation as a strong unit vis-à-vis the head office, highlight opportunities and potential and thus ensure the necessary support from Germany for the implementation of important projects in your market. Leading and developing the management team, including the establishment of a modern leadership culture, is just as much a part of your responsibilities as representing the interests, goals, and values of our client to local partners. You will be responsible for the management and further development of all value creation processes at several locations in China in the areas of production, purchasing, SCM and quality and will report to the CEO China and the Group COO at the company's headquarters in Germany. You will be based in an attractive metropolis in eastern China.

Your profile
Entrepreneurial, Asia-experienced, personally convincing operations personality (m/f/d) with strong leadership skills, a clear focus on results and intercultural sensitivity
You are a university-educated person (m/f/d) with a degree in technology (mechanical engineering or industrial engineering, ideally specialising in manufacturing/production technology). You have several years of experience in Asia/China in a leading position in a successful international manufacturing group of companies. You have acquired your professional expertise in the fields of mechanical engineering, component manufacturing, automotive supply, commercial vehicles, construction machinery/mobile equipment or their direct suppliers as a production or operations manager and are well versed in the processes of manufacturing complex, technically sophisticated products or drive components with the highest quality requirements. Thanks to your many years of management responsibility in China or related Asian cultures, you have the necessary intercultural competence with a focus on Chinese/Asian work, management and business culture. You have proven expertise and success in the areas of production, production planning and control, efficient manufacturing and assembly technology, quality as well as purchasing, supply chain and logistics. In-depth knowledge of the application of modern management and organisational methods, particularly in relation to lean management, efficiency improvements, automation, quality improvements and change projects, is essential for the role. Sound experience in commercial management and in dealing with the relevant key financial figures, cost calculations, investment calculations and controlling key figures round off your profile. A willingness to travel and business fluency in English are prerequisites. Other foreign languages (Chinese, German) are desirable.
