Building upon his degree in Industrial Engineering, Markus has experienced a strong management career over the past 20-plus years, most recently as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer.

He has been active in globally operating, market-leading enterprises in the manufacturing sector. These Hidden Champions are strongly influenced by the mindset and organizational structure of the German “Mittelstand”.

He started his career in the roles of Production Manager and Plant Manager at Koerber AG, an engineering group, and Vossloh AG, a transport technology corporation. As Managing Director (COO) of Putzmeister Concrete Pumps GmbH and member of the Executive Board of Metabo AG he was responsible for all key operational, value-add functions and also led several international sites spread over Germany, China and Turkey. His main activities included restructurings, strategic realignments, process optimizations, lean management and change management.

As a consultant Markus focuses on medium-sized, internationally active manufacturing companies (emphasis on Asia) in the following industries: Industrial Equipment (Machinery & Plant Engineering), Automobile/Automotive Supplier, Electrical, Power Tools, Industrial Services, Construction Machinery and Rolling Stock.
